The Disaster Risk Management (Enforcement Measures) Order was proclaimed and gazetted on March 13, 2020, in accordance with S. 26 of The Disaster Risk Management Act, 2015. This course of action followed the declaration of the island as a "disaster area;" a response from the Jamaican Government regarding the threat of the COVID19 virus.
The Order has since been thrice revised; the latest, published on April 8, 2020, and referred to as The Disaster Risk Management (Enforcement Measures) (No.3) Order 2020.
Updates to the Order include a two-week extension on the previously instated all-island curfew, originally scheduled to end on April 8, 2020.
