The National Identification and Registration Act, 2017

In November 2017, the Government of Jamaica passed the first version of the National Identification and Registration Bill, which sought to establish a reliable identification system for Jamaica.

The bill would later be struck down by the Supreme Court for unconstitutionality in 2019.
